Futures trading platforms are downloadable software programs, or web-based access, to an electronic order entry mechanism for futures and, in most cases, options contracts.  Trading platforms can also be mobile, meaning they are accessible via a cell phone or tablet through the use of an app.  In any form, traders use platforms to enter speculations in the commodity markets.
